Hello and welcome to this week's edition of Bubble Tip of the Week! In this newsletter, we're going to be exploring five awesome plugins that every Bubble developer should have in their toolkit. Whether you're building a new app from scratch or looking to enhance an existing one, these plugins can help you save time and add new features to your app with ease. So, let's dive in!

What are Bubble plugins?

Bubble are pre-built packages of code that you can add to your Bubble app to enhance its functionality. Plugins can add new features, integrate with third-party services, or improve the performance of your app. You can easily search for and install plugins from the Bubble editor, and most plugins are either free or have a small one-time cost.

Install plugins via the Plugins tab in the Bubble editor.

5 plugins you need to know

1. ChatGPT with Real Time Streaming

Cost: $80 once or $10/mth

With ChatGPT and GPT-4, the power of AI-based apps have fully come to life in Bubble. However, Bubble is unable to natively tap on OpenAI's streaming function to make the user experience outputs in real-time.

Want this feature? Not in native Bubble.

With this new plugin, you'll be able to recreate that same experience with ChatGPT. However, the price is on the high side - I hope that cheaper alternatives will arrive soon!

2.Google maps Extended

Cost: Free

This is a very powerful plugin to integrate Google Maps into your Bubble app. If you want to display multiple icons, show distance travelled or build Uber like apps, this is the plugin to use.

A word of caution: As this is a free plugin, documentation is sparse. Be prepared to dive into the forum if you need help.

3. Utilities

Cost: $16 once or $4/mth

Dubbed 'the Swiss knife of building with Bubble', this plugin contains a myriad of useful tools to deal with lists and 'if-then' workflows, 2 things that Bubble does not do very efficiently at the moment. With the new workload pricing system, having this plugin makes it easy to run workflows on the client-side, reducing unnecessary workload costs for you.

4. Browser Device Information

Cost: Free

Ever wanted to know what devices your users use to access your app? This plugin allows you to obtain the following data from the user's browser and device:

- Operating System (Windows, Android, iOS...)
- Browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox...)
- Timezone
- Language (en-US, pt-BR...)
- Device Unique Fingerprint

With this information, you'll be able to better customise your app experience to your users.

Launched recently, this plugin is an amazing undiscovered gem that allows you to use voice-to-text on a real-time basis. Although it is named as 'Voice Search', you can do plenty more related to speech writing or voice note taking with this plugin.

Supported browsers: Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Brave.
